The kitchen table became a workbench of some sort to each of us eight kids growing up and for me it was my art table. I was young and inspired by my Aunty and her art and my dad and his drawing, so at my allotted time I had that table all to myself. Covered with newspaper and a moment no-one could steal, the words ‘I want to be an artist when I grow up’ chanted over and over in my mind as I endeavored to find out how this paint worked! Creating at a fast pace before the trojan bench became someone else’s property, ushered in a skill of proficiency.

The words ‘get outside and play!’ beckoned many times a day, as mum scrambled for her own time to get things done. My imagination became my best friend, no computer games or phones were around to consume my mind and I never became bored, playing was something I was good at and playing with paint was no exception.

After the tragic death of my father when I was 10 and subsequent events to come, I laid down my childhood dream and got on with learning how to navigate life an the many curve balls it would throw.

Many years later with an amazing husband and two beautiful children in tow, I was sent a package of the contents of my late aunties art supplies and the desire began to take root again. I practiced and practiced with color and form, learning all I could along the way to develop my craft.

It wasn’t until I really understood who God is, that I began a journey of self-discovery and my paintings took on a whole new purpose, and meaning began to partner with my every creation. My skillset began to sky rocket as I was so hungry to learn. I developed something intimate, an edge that became addictive and this in turn raised the bar for works of greatness. My popularity grew and I turned professional.

The whole world and everything in it became my inspiration; the everchanging landscape of my creations put me in the spotlight to acquire numerous solo and group exhibitions works that adorn the walls of countless homes and companies across the globe.

I share my passion and knowledge in random conversations, in workshops, art classes, exhibitions, competitions and community events in and throughout Perth and Great Southern, Western Australia.
